Congressman John Duarte Crushes Expectations, Secures Huge Victory

Results make Congressman Duarte a clear favorite for reelection

Modesto, CA – With most votes counted in Tuesday’s primary election, Congressman John Duarte has secured a commanding victory over former Sacramento Legislator Adam Gray. Duarte, who defeated Gray by just 564 votes in the 2022 general election, currently leads Gray by more than eight percentage points. Duarte carried four of the five counties in the district, including a shocking win in Gray’s home County of Merced.

“These results prove that my record of working with both parties to make gas and groceries affordable, bring good-paying jobs to the Valley, and fix our broken immigration system resonates with working families,” said Duarte. “They show that this November, voters will once again reject Adam Gray’s track record of extreme partisan politics.”

Duarte campaign consultant Duane Dichiara released the following statement:

“Once again, Congressman Duarte has beaten the expectations of political insiders, this time securing a dominant victory in one of the country’s ‘closest’ districts. These results reaffirm that Gavin Newsom and Joe Biden picked the wrong candidate in Adam Gray – Valley families rejected his track record of extreme politics and loyalty to party bosses for the third straight election, and they’ll make it four in November.”
